What an honor to be nominated and I want to thank Chauntel in her blog Lavender Linen & Lace.
So now, it's time to pass on the torch. For those of you who don't know (and I didn't know either until I got nominated), the Liebster Award is given to those who are bloggers by other bloggers. The requirements and all the research I did about the nomination are in my post, The Liebster Award: What to Do with a Nomination, so make sure you check it out!
As a quick summary, I will be posting the answers to Chauntel's 11 questions and then posing 11 more questions for other bloggers that I have found that have less than 1000 followers and have been around for less than a year. So, here goes the questions and answers first!
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I would live in Italy, probably in Tuscany to enjoy the wine as well as the Italian culture. Although I have never been there, I would love to learn Italian and take cooking/painting classes in this unique new spot. But, ask me next week, and I'll say something completely different! Haha!
What song represents your life the most?
Which one do I listen to most? Or, which represents my life? Haha, well, these two are pretty amazing and I've been obsessed with them so I'll give you both. Better when I'm Dancing (yes, from the Peanuts movie) by Meghan Trainor and then Simple Life by Casey Abrams. I definitely believe in the power of dance (although I just dance to my own rhythm most of the time) and the simplicity of life (I'm always trying to live more simply!).
What is your favorite go-to meal on a busy night?
I work as a waitress, so if I'm busy, I would probably just eat pasta at work or pasta at home. Quick, easy and inexpensive.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I hope I'll be traveling the world, maybe with a few kids (adopted or not), and definitely writing.
What would your ideal day be like?
My ideal day would be: sleeping in, taking time to relax and get everything (all adult things) settled at home, drinking amazing coffee, going out to eat for dinner or meeting up with a friend for coffee, then ending the night meeting up in the afternoon/evening for drinks or dancing.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
I've always liked writing. I've been writing in a journal for years and it was always my go-to, so now I just get to share my ideas on a blog with other people! It's been amazing to learn the ins and outs of technology and adapt it as I go.
What are you most grateful for and why?
I'm most grateful for friends and family and all of the people who help me live in the moment and love on people.
Are you a cat or dog person?
I've never owned a dog so I guess I would say I'm a cat person. And, my roommates and I, we are cats. Essentially, we like being weird and so this particular phrase stuck. So, I'm a cat, thus a cat person.
What inspires you the most?
Nature inspires me most. I love being outside, biking to work, climbing mountains and conversing with people about real life in these settings is the sh**t.
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
I'd like to fly.
What was the last book you read, did you love it or hate it?
I am currently reading The Third Coast by Thomas Dyja and it's actually the book that is Chicago's One Book One Chicago initiative by Chicago Public Library. I think it's good for its history, but a little slow for me.
Okay, so now it's time for my nominees!!!!
I wanted to make this meaningful for me, so I am only nominating 2 people who have started blogs and have been an inspiration to me in my life inside and outside of my blog.
Congratulations for being nominated.
1) Brittany with JoyFull Living. She has a great blog where she gives tips for healthy living. I love her ideas and her reminder to live and move forward to be joyful!
2) Mary with Mary's Bananas. She's traveling around the U.S. in a van and sharing her experiences as a vegan, feminist, full-time traveler and dog owner! She's an inspiration to get out and just do it!
And, the questions that I have for you are:
1) What is one thing you want to do when you "grow up"?
2) If you could be in one place right now, where would you be?
3) What motivated you to begin your blog?
4) What is your favorite memory of your childhood? Why?
5) Who is your idol?
6) What is the top song on your playlist right now?
7) What is your outlet when things aren't going well?
8) Nsync or Backstreet boys?
9) Which historical person would you like to meet up with for coffee/lunch? Why?
10) What's your go-to workout? Why?
11) What are you thankful for?
Thanks again for reading and contributing! For those readers out there, please answer one of the questions in the comment box below so I can get to know you better too!
